TA DAH! Finally some presentable photos of lugia! My newset cosplay creation.
Ya I know I haven't really been doing anything new on the cosplay front, but in reality I've had this guy done since halloween. It was only a few days ago I added a jaw and made some presentable white leg warmers. I'm so glad I added the Jaw. Not only does it look a little bit more "realistic", but it keeps that darn back heavy hat on my head! That would've been very useful during the parade now wouldn't have? [I walked 5K in this costume in november for the christmas parade.]
Cost? 5 bucks. All I had to buy was the t-shirt! The rest was made from free fabric I got from my grandma way back when I started cosplay [remember my yuffie cloak anyone?] As well as just other white clothing I had around. The head is made out of Upholstrey foam, black pleather for the eyes, and some stuffing for the wings/hands. There is also chicken wire in the fingers that come together in the palm so I can control the hand more. There's also a wire in the tail.
This is definitely my favourite costume so far- and I have a feeling that it's just one of those costumes that's only going to get better. I already have plans to make it better for Con-g... but I've run out of free fabric. XD So off to the store for me!
[I also entered my first masqurade with Lugia during Emiko Minicon 4. Such awesome people there! I'll update with the results of the contest ASAP]
It was really hard! I had to do some sewng at some extreme angles, and they still aren't even on both sides. But I'm really happy based on the work I put into them. ^^ The only way you can see them is if you look down, which will become one of the things I fix in the coming months
If I'm not to busy with the end of the school year- I hope to show up just for the saturday and hang out just outside. I don't want to spend as much money on it as I have in past years. I'm also bringing it to Con-G this year on the sunday.
